Taking Back Your Calendar
While driving home from work the other day, I heard a statistic on the radio that made my heart sink. While many of us have hundreds, if not thousands of Facebook friends, Twitter followers, or Linkedin connections, on average, a person has 2 close friends that would be there for them in a crisis. This made me stop to think how many relationships I’ve thrown by the wayside because I was too busy or too lazy to keep open the lines of communication and build deep relationships with those I care about.
A Solid Foundation for a Meaningful Future
Previously, we talked about The Question That Could Change Your Life. It’s a question that many people don’t stop to think about. However, if you do take a step back to answer that question, it may have the power to change the way you think and the way you choose to spend your time and money. Creating a mission, vision, and values statement is the next step in creating a life plan/financial plan that is meaningful, significant, and compelling to you. Your mission, vision, and values statement builds upon your answer to the first question and takes everything to the next level.
How to Transition From Success to Significance
Do you ever wonder if your life has meaning? Perhaps you have achieved some level of success personally, professionally, and financially, but you still feel like something is missing. It may ease your mind a bit to know that you are not alone. Many people across the nation and around the world have begun asking themselves the hard questions and seeking more purpose in their lives.
Many people measure their success by wealth, recognition, power and status. There’s nothing wrong with those, but if that’s all you’re focused on you’re missing the boat. Using your time and talent to serve others – that’s when truly meaningful success can come your way.

Knocking On Debt’s Door…..
Lessons to Learn from America’s Debt Ceiling Debate
Unless you’ve been living under a rock lately, I’m sure you’ve heard all about America’s looming debt crisis. Our government has essentially “maxed out its credit card” and needs to approve a higher debt ceiling in order to continue operating. I’m not into debating about politics, and won’t go there, but there is a lot that can be learned from our country’s current situation when it comes to managing your personal finances.
