A Season of Growth at Sound Stewardship
Every fall our team reflects on the year’s highlights so far. As we head into the final quarter of 2026, this is some of what our team and their families have been up to.
Team Milestones
Every year we share a glimpse behind the scenes at Sound Stewardship. Here are some of the exciting things happening within our firm and families!
We are grateful for a tremendous year of growth. We now serve 220 families across 24 states, stewarding $500 million in total net worth, with approximately $330 million managed directly by our team. We’ve been intentionally expanding our team to ensure you still receive a high level of care and service!
Here’s what we’ve been up to:
- Our team is growing! Shae Greidanus, who interned with us last summer and stayed on part-time, joins us full-time this month. Rachael Holguin, our intern this past summer, is staying on with us part-time too. They’re both amazing additions!
- Jordan Smith earned his CFP® certification and was promoted to Associate Wealth Advisor. Well deserved!
- We’ve introduced wellness surveys to help us measure how improved financial wellness is contributing to long-term overall life satisfaction.
- Clients gave away $3.5 million to causes they love last year. Getting to be part of your generosity is one of the best parts of our work!
- We added an AI note-taking tool to help our advisors be more present in meetings, after we put it through the wringer on privacy and security. We also leveled up our own security training behind the scenes, including mock simulations and penetration testing to ensure your data is protected.
- Our monthly webinars are now a YouTube series, making it easier to feature special guests and share episodes with family or friends. Have ideas for topics or guests? Let us know!
A few things on the horizon:
- A new client planning summary to make your annual review even more impactful.
- A client survey, so you can weigh in on several improvements we’re considering.
- A new website in the works for 2027.
- And…a special celebration in February 2027…stay tuned!
Thank you for letting us be part of your story. We don’t take it for granted!
Family Highlights from our Summer Adventures
In addition to an amazing summer of growth at Sound Stewardship, our team has been making meaningful memories with their families.

The Syverson Family had an eventful summer filled with a graduation, a trip to Disney World, summer camps, and even an engagement!
Lily graduated from Olathe South High School in May 2026, and the whole family celebrated with a memorable week at Disney World. Around the same time, they received the wonderful news that their daughter Sophie became engaged to Michael. They are excited to celebrate Sophie and Michael’s wedding this October in Texas.
Grace continues to pursue her master’s degree in elementary education through K-State University and looks forward to serving students in Stillwater, OK this fall. Tammy remains the steady force that keeps the family running smoothly while faithfully serving families in need through Mission Southside’s Food Co-op program.
Summer also brought several incredible camp experiences. The family enjoyed time at Kanakuk, Lily loved Camp Barnabas, and Matt and Levi rafted and rock climbed in Colorado through Trail Life.
As always, there’s never a dull moment in the Syverson family!
The Harrison Family stayed closer to home this summer while their teenagers worked. But the world came to Kansas City for the FIFA World Cup! They enjoyed all things soccer, attending one of the games in KC, the Oranje Walk, and hanging out at Fan Fest, as well as some smaller long-weekend trips.

Cindy St. John enjoyed a girls’ trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in August. She enjoyed the view of the pool and beach from the balcony. Cindy also served as an Ambassador for Hillcrest Transitional Housing’s 50th Anniversary Celebration. Sound Stewardship volunteers at the Hillcrest Thrift Store in Overland Park.
Joel & Jenine Reimer spent some time camping this summer. They particularly enjoyed Bennett Springs State Park, including watching the trout fishermen in the ice cold spring water.

The Hensley Family enjoyed a trip out west for a family wedding. Derek was honored with the opportunity to officiate the wedding in the beautiful Grand Teton National Park. They also took some time to enjoy the western part of Yellowstone.
The Leibach Family enjoyed an active summer filled with camping, kayaking, biking, and plenty of time on the ball fields. Their garden was especially productive this year, yielding more cucumbers than the family could keep up with. They’re ready to trade the summer heat for cooler fall days.

The Spradling Family packed plenty of memories into the summer, from family gatherings and trips to St. Louis, Louisville, and Dallas to everyday adventures at home. Their two toddler boys kept life moving with playdates, time at parks and splashpads, and plenty of opportunities to burn off energy.
The Smith Family settled into their new home in Gardner, Kansas. They also squeezed in several adventures, including trips to Silver Dollar City, Disney World, and Keystone State Park in Oklahoma. Closer to home, they spent lots of time at the pool.

The Buethe Family enjoyed a memorable summer, starting with an early summer trip to Beaver Creek and Vail, Colorado. They also traveled to Kansas to attend an event Melody’s dad participated in for America’s 250th anniversary celebration. The family spent the 4th of July with friends in Seward, Nebraska, known as “Nebraska’s Official 4th of July City,” and finished the rest of the summer attending baseball games and spending time with friends.
The Schroeder Family enjoyed a summer full of adventure. In June they took a family roadtrip to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina for a vacation with extended family. The rest of the summer was spent cheering on their daughters at swim meets, basketball games, and dance performances, as well as lots of time in the garden and pool!

Shae Greidanus celebrated her engagement in June and has been enjoying all the excitement that comes with wedding planning. She is looking forward to becoming Mrs. Carter Bergdall. From June through September, Shae fulfilled a long-held dream by working as a wrangler and skeet shooting coach at a performance horse and dude ranch in Dubois, Wyoming. She is incredibly grateful for the experience, the amazing people she met, the beautiful scenery, and the many valuable lessons learned along the way.
Rachael and Niko Holguin celebrated their one-year anniversary. Niko graduated from AIT and is serving at his first duty station in Okinawa, Japan. Meanwhile Rachael finished her Sound Stewardship internship and is now onboarding as a new member of the team. Out of the office, she spent time with her friends and family, enjoying the nice weather with her dog, and just enjoying the time off from school before she completes her final year at K-State.
