Tax Credit Possibility for Kansas Taxpayers

As the treasurer and supportive parent of New Horizon Ranch (NHR), Matt Syverson would like to share a unique opportunity with our Kansas clients and colleagues.  In order to build a much needed indoor arena for their therapeutic horse back riding services just south of Johnson County, NHR is taking steps to apply for the Kansas Community Service Tax Credit Program to facilitate this building project.

IF approved, NHR will have a certain amount of tax credits available that would allow donors the opportunity to receive a 70% Kansas Tax Credit for any donation of $250 or more, made between July 1, 2014 and December 31, 2015.  For example, if you wrote a check to NHR for $1,000, you would receive $700 off your state taxes for doing so.  NHR would present proof of your donation to the state to facilitate your tax credit and then you will complete the K-60 form to receive your credit. These credits are available to any individuals or businesses who file a Kansas tax return.  It is truly a win-win!

Here’s where you come in, if you are a Kansas taxpayer…would you consider making an online pledge of support for NHR’s application by April 25th, 2014by clicking here? You must pledge at least $250 or more based on the tax reduction you would like to receive on your Kansas tax return. IF NHR is approved, then you have an 18 month window to fulfill your pledge via cash, check or credit card.  IF NHR is NOT approved for this round of tax credits, then your donation is still welcomed, but there is no obligation.

The exciting news is that tax credits can only be used for unique, one time projects…such as a capital campaign for an indoor arena!  We are truly hoping that NHR will be approved and this will be the catalyst for them to begin construction soon!

Thank you for believing in NHR and the people with disabilities that we serve.
