Cindy St. John

Relationship Manager

God has been so good to me. After being a church secretary for over 18 years, this is a real calling for me. When I leave Sound Stewardship each day, I feel like we’ve helped someone. This is an awesome team, and we’re here to help make sure everything is in place for our clients.

Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, Cindy attended Miller Hawkins Business College. She has held administrative roles in the insurance and natural gas industries. She met her late husband Ricky while working in Memphis. Ricky’s job in the grocery business took the family to Louisiana, Kentucky, and then Kansas.  After losing Ricky to complications due to cancer, Cindy moved from Lenexa to Olathe, and now resides there.

She became connected to Sound Stewardship after a friend at church told her that Matt Syverson was looking for an administrative assistant. It was not long before Cindy was promoted to Relationship Manager. Cindy ensures that from a client’s first greeting at Sound Stewardship, the experience is a positive one. As Relationship Manager, clients look to her to answer questions, schedule appointments, make community connections and make sure each visit to our office is enjoyable. Her Sound Stewardship colleagues affectionately call her the “Coupon Queen,” since she’s always working hard to save money for the firm.

“I love being part of the Sound Stewardship team,” Cindy says. “We’re a family here, and we share the same values.” She recalls the moment when her family and the Syverson family were in the same waiting room at Children’s Mercy Hospital, praying together for Matt’s son and Cindy’s grandson who were both undergoing open heart surgery. “That was a real bonding experience. It was meant to be!”

Cindy is blessed with two daughters and one son, as well as five granddaughters and one grandson. She is an avid community volunteer who has served on many committees in the Lenexa area. She has been a volunteer for the Lenexa Police Department and the Daughters of the American Revolution for over twenty years. With the passing of Ricky, Cindy has also been involved in charitable contributions to the Advent Health Cancer Center. She attends Lenexa Baptist church and enjoys supporting their Missions.
